PRECURSOR / DENSE MATERIAL

Precursor/Dense Material is a dense aluminum core material sandwiched between two metal cladding layers. It can be reinforced with discrete metallic and/or ceramics particles, steel mesh and/or carbon fibre, etc., and used in special structural or ballistic/blast applications. The outer layer can be aluminum, steel, stainless steel or titanium on both sides and any combination of these materials. The cladding layer thickness can vary from 0.5 mm up to 6 mm whereas the total sandwich thickness can vary from 2.5 mm up to 15 mm.
